New Mind, New Heart, Fresh Faith

24 days off of social media. The amount of time and mental energy that freed up for me is both amazing and terrifying…
I find starting the year off of social media is the best way for me to start off right. A clear head to focus on what’s to come in the year ahead and time for what’s truly important.
Every year it makes me want to be on socials less and less. Not sharing less, but consuming less. I think that everyone should consume less, but especially us creatives. Our mind is used for our ideas and whatever sparks our creative flow, but when we consume it’s harder to create organically from within.
My personal word for 2026 is OVERFLOW
This is a word that God has been putting on my heart since July of last year. A lot of times I feel I am pouring out of an empty or half full cup, even burnt out. I believe this year i’m taking that back. I want to live in the overflow. I want to be so full of joy and peace that it has no place but to pour out in everything I do.

There’s a pressure I feel surrounding social media of having the perfectly curated post to put out at the right time. That’s not the overflow that’s the burnt out and empty cup pouring. Being in the overflow is sharing the real that’s happening in my life no matter how it looks. Spending the extra moments of my day to share something that’s been on my heart. Sharing on social media for me is meant to be the overflow of the life i’m out living. The extra moments, not the whole moment.
This refreshing perspective makes me excited of the year ahead. Excited to get back into blogging, where it all started back in 2018. Excited to get back to creating not consuming.
I’ll end with some verses and songs that i’ve been meditating on these past few days….
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13
“but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.”
Psalms 1:2
When you meditate on God’s word it
overflows out of you
“Breathe on me, oh, breath of God
Flood me with Your living water
Rush through me now 'til my soul overflows”
All Of A Sudden — Elevation Worship
I pray this year is a year of overflowing,
love, and new opportunities.
